Do you want to reduce your social media usage?

Want to study but getting attracted to social media apps?

Trying to focus but mostly thinking about videos and songs?

If your answer to all this questions is yes then I have a good news for you. Here is a guide to help to in detoxing those social media platforms in 21 days

First of all, don't worry!!. You are in 2021. Where everyone is sitting at home.

 After following this guide you will never install those app.its my promise .

Let's begin this beautiful journey.

Now , first thing you have to do before beginning is open a diary.

Answer this questions

"why do you want to detox social media?

"What are the benefits?" 



Write the answer in it. Keep it with yourself because it's going to play an important role.

Tell your friends about this . You may not be able to check messages of them. 

Remember to tell this to your family. It will create a responsibility in yourself.

Day 01

Let's start this journey by uninstalling the apps. You can even disable apps like youtube , google and all.

I would suggest to give your phone to your parents or your sibling. Just set a password and give it to them.By this, your pride will set you to achieve your goal.

If you live alone than keep the phone in the locker or at a quiet place where you don't go.

Today you will be constantly thinking about social media trends, memes, songs and mostly which data you have fed to you subconscious mind.

You will have an urge to go through instagram or check text messages on whatsapp.

Certain reminders will try to stop you like "I need to post this today" or "I should watch this".

Tips: don't give up.

    Keep yourself busy in other sort of work.

    This is the time when you can restart doing your hobby. Just remember to be         involved in whatever work you are doing.

 

Day 02

Today will be like do or die. Today will be the day when you would lose or win.

Keep  a positive attitude. Keep yourself working what you love. Just like dancing, singing, drawing, cycling, yoga and many. Learn new skills. 

Try to be productive as much as possible. If not then just go to sleep but do something. 

Tip: keep re-reading that answer which I told you to write.

    Remember that " if you use it, you will surely regret later".

Day 07

Now you would be little comfortable with your routine. I would repeat that keep yourself busy as much as possible. 

Mind : " hey ,it's going to be a week. That's great. But I should check whether  any important message is there for me. As well as I can even use social media as it is weekend. It's SUNDAY. I would take one day from a week to use this."

Never get in this trap.For God's sake.  Let me tell you what will happen if you came up with this kind of attitude.

    Day 07 -" fine. I will use it today"

    Day 08 - "oh! I should check whether she replied me or not. I will not use social media but I will only see whatsapp. (1 min later) just give it shot. I would use youtube for only 15 min(using it for almost 2 hours). Oh, I've failed to not use social media😰(using social media for maximum hours because of your guilt and even you are angry on yourself)

So don't get into this trap. It is dangerous.

Tip: A better way to celebrate is go meet your friends , have a party, eat what you love, go to a picnic,spend time with you loved ones, go and do things what you like more than anything.

Day 14

You are on an intermediate level. Now you can leave without phone but your inner capability has not became that strong. It would in next week. 

It has been 2 weeks. Now even that's true that anyone could send you any important message or have e-mailed you.

Get you sibling and tell him /her to read the subject of the emails of your account for you.

This way you will not only check the important messages but also not use social platforms.

Tips: go out of house. Enjoy the nature. Visit national parks, zoo, museum, parks alone or together.

Spend time with your family. Go and make connections. 

Day 21

Mind:"at last today is the last day. Now I can use instagram"

This is wrong .

If you are thinking like this then you have to work for more days. Remember you goals , why did you started this.

Mind:"yes . I've completed this task. Now I am far from this visual world and I love it. Yeah but emails are important. I need to check them for my work."

This is correct .

Even if you use instagram or youtube , it would not be a problem. Just remember to not make them again as a habit.
